We fight to abolish prison slavery and end the criminalization of poverty; not with policy papers, but with boots on the ground. Through grassroots organizing, direct action, mutual aid, and community defense, we build power outside the system that’s been trying to cage and starve us for generations. We don’t just resist; we replace.

Our mission

To reclaim what’s been stolen from working-class people in Appalachia and beyond; our dignity, freedom, and future. Fights Back exists to dismantle the systems that profit off our pain, while building a world rooted in solidarity, survival, and self-determination. We’re not here to reform oppression; we’re here to end it.
